Krishna and Radha
the divine union
The relationship most reveired in the hindu tradition is that of Radha and Krishna. It is an example of the highest and purest love. A love expressed as only through music can, an indissoluble union of the highest intermingling and completion.
Krishna, the beloved mischievous and enchanting boy of Brindavan, is the cosmic musician who woo's the gopi's (the milkmaids in the village) with his tunes.
The notes issued by Krisna's flute are likened to the avatars of forces in nature; tunes so powerful that they embodied the energy of the cosmos. It should be no surprise, then, that Krisna's flute had the power to woo women wherever he went. Lassoing the stars.
Radha, the most beautiful and beloved amongst the gopis is the consort of our beloved Krishna with a love and devotion unmatched by any other. Radha's yearning for union with her beloved Krishna is likened to the soul's longing for spiritual awakening and for union with the One Source of peace and bliss.
The love of Radha and Krishna is symbolic of the eternal love affair between the devoted mortal and the Divine. Radha in her bliss symbolizes a unique state of devotion that is bound to lead to a merger with the One.

Our Deepest Fear
our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. it is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
we ask ourselveswho am i to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? actually, who are you not to be? you are a child of spirit. your playing small does not serve the world. there is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure.
we were born to manifest the glory that is within us. it is not just in some of us, its in everyone. and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give people the permission to do the same. as we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Starfish Poem
Once upon a time there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work. One day he was walking along the shore. As he looked down the beach, he saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself to think of someone who would dance to the day. So he began to walk faster to catch up.
As he got closer, he saw that it was a young man and the young man wasn't dancing, but instead he was reaching down to the shore, picking up something and very gently throwing it into the ocean. As he got closer he called out, "Good morning! What are you doing?" The young man paused, looked up and replied, "Throwing starfish in the ocean." "I guess I should have asked, why are you throwing starfish in the ocean?" "The sun is up, and the tide is going out. And if I don't throw them in they'll die." "But, young man, don't you realize that there are miles and miles of beach, and starfish all along it. You can't possibly make a difference!"
The young man listened politely. Then bent down, picked another starfish and threw it into the sea, past the breaking waves and said, "It made a difference for that one."

Title Unknown
i have come to the frightening conclusion that i am the decisive element. it is my personal approach that creates the climate. it is my daily mood which makes the weather.
i possess tremendous power to make life miserable or joyous. i can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. i can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. in all situations, it is my response that decides. whether a crisis is escalated or de-escalted and a person humanized or dehumanized.
if we treat people as they are, we make them worst. if we treat them as they ought to be, we help them become what they are capable of becoming.
