Welcome - my name is Leesalyn. I practice and teach meditation and hatha yoga from the Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Sivananda traditions. I offer community classes that are informal, non-competitive, and paid by donations - encouraging all abilities to participate. independent study approved
Wow, i feel as if i have graduated from college all over again! Since October of 2005, i have been studying various methods for communicating the science of yoga and applying it to the instruction and training of future yoga teachers. After several years of teaching and many hours of research, i have been certified by the Yoga Alliance registry as a RYT 500 hour teacher. It is my intention to continue exploring new and integrative approaches to sharing this beautiful science of self and spiritual discovery. I humbly thank you all for your support, generosity and kindness over the years and across the world. namaste'

schedule update
I regret to inform that due to time and financial constraints, the donation Pay-What-You-Wish classes are postponed and will resume in the coming Spring. Students are encouraged to continue their practice with the Thursday workshops, private sessions, or personal at home practice.
The Thursday workshops are an excellent opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of the yoga traditions and to develop a foundation from which to build their own personal practice at home. There will also be reduced rate private sessions available on a sliding fee scale. Please contact me for more information and to arrange a time to meet.

2008 beginner yoga workshops
Thursday evenings at the Burly House will serve host to beginner workshops starting January 17th with Yoga for Beginners.
This 10 hour course introduces students to the Hatha Yoga practice including the primary physical postures, breathing exercises, and philosophy. Each week the class will learn new practices as well as review the principles taught from the previous week to further integrate the technique and methodology. Each class is adapted for personalized attention to individual needs in a nurturing non-competitive atmosphere. Completion of this program will enable students to practice safely and confidently whether in a large class room or privately at home. For more information, cost and the details.
Stay tuned for the Ashtanga beginner workshop March 6th and Sivananda beginner workshop April 24th.
